Family Dining Room — Tabitha Sewer

Welcome to my Family Dining Room.

Our dining room has been a blank canvas for years and I feel it’s time to add some personality to the space. I’m excited for this space to be the first room in our home that I welcome you into. Let’s take a close look at the blank space.

THE BEFORE

Here is a peek at my mood board. As we are going along, some ideas may or may not work and that’s ok. I’ll add and subtract from the mood board as I see fit. The design process is all trial and error.

I love the windows in this room. They are nice and big and brings in a whole lot of light. On this wall, I’ve always felt like it would be a great statement wall. Since the room has so much light, this black wallpaper that I chose was the perfect choice.

Using my Fiskars Tape Measure, I measured the height and width of the wall. Using those measurements, I calculated the square footage to purchase the amount of wallpaper I needed.

I love how the wall paper came out! Its so striking and beautiful! Black wallpaper is such a bold choice, but this space needed it.

For the wall adjacent to the statement wall, we were lucky enough to find very minimal art prints that went well with the space but didn't take away from the wallpaper. The Fiskars Hammer and Fiskars Fastener Assortment Kit is so convenient to have in your tool kit. I had everything I needed to hang my prints.
