How to Make a Waterproof Lunch Bag
In today’s society, I’m so happy to see how many of us are all moving towards a sustainable lifestyle. We don’t necessarily have to change our whole lifestyle immediately but maybe you want to do one thing that could lower your carbon footprint or lessen the amount of waste you produce in your household. I, myself, am moving into this lifestyle very slowly and am looking into ways that my family and I can recycle, reuse, and reduce. Slyly, but surely, I think we will get there.
Any who, I know that there are soon many lunch bags out there, but I wanted to create and personalize my own. The technique that I share in the video, doesn’t necessarily have to be use for a lunch bag, you can use it for other bags that you decide to create such as; Makeup bags, travel bags, tote bags, etc. The list is endless. Waterproofing a custom bag that you create changes everything!! Especially if you have young kids!
For my bag, I purchased a canvas fabric and since I learned how to paint fabric this Summer, I decided to paint my canvas. I’ve listed all of the materials you will need below.
MATERIALS
Canvas Fabric (I used this for both lining and outer part of bag)
Iron on Vinyl (Matte Finish) or Iron on Vinyl (Glossy Finish)
Fabric Paint
Sewing Machine
