Scrap Buster: Fabric Ribbon
If you are like me, you probably have a lot fabric scraps hanging around your sewing space. I’m always looking for ways to use them in fun way way. I’ve made headbands in the past that I absolutely love and pin cushions that are super cute. Now, why not use the scraps for the holidays?!
MATERIALS
Fabric Scraps
Scissors
Presents
Sewing Machine (Optional)
Since I have a great selection of scraps, I decided that each gift will have a theme. How fun would it be to gift each individual person (you are gifting to) a perfectly wrapped gift especially designed for them? Below I want to share 3 different ways to use your fabric scraps to wrap gifts and make it a personal experience for whom you are gifting it to.
For Your Fashionable Friend
Have gingham fabric lying around?! This screams fashion IF you pair it with a bold, bright color. Tie a fluffy bow on the top of your gift and add another pop of color with a red tag. Color blocking is always a good idea!
Because Diversity is Beautiful
How adorable is this fabric?! I love that it shares different skin tones of little dancers. This fabric is currently available at JOANNs. It will surely add a sweet touch to any gift. Note: For an extra rustic feel, throw the fabric in teh washing machine and dryer. The edges will come out a bit worn which adds an extra texture to the fabric.
For this gift, I wrapped a strip of fabric around one side of the gift. I tied several small straps to the top of the gift and added a green tag and jingle bells.
Traditional Christmas
For that friend that loves Christmas and all it’s traditions. This fabric is perfect! It shows different families window shopping for gifts and you’ll even spot Santa greeting the little kids. Its so adorable
To wrap your gift, wrap the fabric around two opposite corners. Then, create a fluffy bow for one of the corners. Add a gold tag and you are done.
