Peek-a-Boo

As some of you may know, I am one of the co-founders of www.prettygirlssew.com.  It's a group that 5 women started last May and it's such an amazing and inspiring group to be apart of.  Well, my love for the group is really expressed in this outfit of the day (OOTD).

I was inspired to pull together this outfit by the beautiful Sheryl Luke of www.walkinwonderland.com.  Her style to me is flawlessly chic.  The skirt that she wore is pictured below was purchased from Express.  And as you all know, Express definitely has some high prices.  The cheapest I seen this skirt is $84.69 on Asos. So after seeing this, you know I had to find a way to make this.  The fabric that I chose to make my skirt was a black satin taffetta and a mesh fabric.    The pattern that I used to make this skirt was McCalls 6706.  If you do decide to make this be careful.  You may have to make a few adjustments to allow this skirt to be actually wearable.  I'm currently working on a tutorial on my channel to show you those adjustments.  As for the shirt, it's just a simple screen printed shirt that I made at home.   T-shirts with wording on it have been quite popular lately so I decided to jump onto the trend.
