Lady in the Streets

First off, let me describe my style.  Classy, sexy, feminine, safe.  This outfit is everything I mentioned but safe. LOL!  In my regular everyday wear, Im a jeans a t-shirt type of gal.  With blogging, I am able to create a type of alter ego.  This year, I told myself that I was going to step out of my comfort zone and make things that I normally would not wear on an everyday basis, but something that my inner Carrie Bradshaw would wear.

So with that said, I decided on making another peek-a-boo skirt I made in a previous post except with a few adjustments.  The previous skirt, I don't think I'd be comfortable wearing out because it's a bit too short. So, I made this one a bit longer.  I also felt that I wanted a more cohesive look to my skirt so I did not add the strips of fabric like I did with my other skirt.  This skirt was easily made without a pattern and the tutorial will be available for purchase soon.

For the crop top, I drafted a shirt pattern on my own for first time ever!! YAY! I was so excited.  It took me three tries and I was so relieved when I got it on the third try. As far as sewing it all together...now that was extremely easy.  It's not made for stretchy material which I love. I have not seen any DIY's on structured crop tops.  I've only seen tutorials using stretchy fabric. So this one is defintiely perfect for me. So here is my look put together.  Hope you all enjoy and be prepared for more color and prints in the future of this blog. To get an idea of the changes I made and how to go about making this skirt without a pattern, a video will be provided soon.
