Rainbow Sequins Maxi Skirt
Happy New Year!!!
I wanted to kick off this new year with a bang! Pow! Pow!
Usually, my creative process starts off with a photo I found on a social platform or a designer look I found in a magazine. But once in a while a fabric is begging to be bought (LOL!) so, I’ll buy it wait for it to speak to me. This rainbow sequin fabric screamed “NEW YEAR“ to me. I knew that when I posted something on the 1st of January 2019, it had to set the tone for the rest of the new year. I had to prepare you to get uncomfortable with being comfortable. :) This is the year of elevation. (YES!!)
The skirt was pretty easy to make. The sequins wasn’t difficult at all. One thing I’d recommend though, is that you be sure to use a brand new needle. A dull needle would make it difficult to sew through this fabric. This skirt is fully lined and includes an invisible zipper in the back. The time to complete this skirt would be a little over 2 hours which doesn’t seem like it at all.
