Swarovski Jeweled Top
Do you have a top that you love so much that you don’t wear anymore, but you just can’t seem to give it up? Why not give it new life?! Sometimes our wardrobe needs a bit of a new life. Today, I partnered with Swarovski to show you how you can take a garment from your closet and revamp it into something brand new with just a touch of creativity.
MATERIALS
7/8” Grossgrain Ribbon
Swarovski Crystals and Pearls
Old Short Sleeve Top (cannot be made from stretch fabric)
Iron
Jewel-It Embellishing Glue
Jewel Setting Tool
Heat N Bond Tape
INSTRUCTIONS
Measure your sleeve from the neckline point to the bottom of the sleeve. Add 1 inch to that measurement.
Use that measurement to cut out the length of your ribbon.
Using the heat n bond tape, attach your ribbon to your top. Be sure to overlap the ribbon over the neckline and the bottom of the sleeve.
Working in 2-3 inches sections, apply the Jewel It glue over the grosgrain ribbon. Spread the glue thin enough for the jewels to adhere to. Note: Do not work in large sections because the glue will dry fast.
Apply the crystals randomly on top of the wet glue. Place bigger crystals down first and use the smaller pearls and crystals to fill in the tiny areas.
Allow to dry for about 4-5 hours.
When cleaning your garment, I would recommend you bring your garment to a dry cleaning service.
