CHALLENGE: Building a Capsule Wardrobe
This month I was challenged to create 5 garments that would all pair well together. These five garments had to create several different looks and still speak to my creative freedom and love for color and fun. To add more to the challenge, I wasn’t able to go out and purchase the fabrics that I wanted. Joann Stores sent over several different kinds of gorgeous fabrics for me to choose from. It was so hard for me to choose which 5 I wanted and how they would all coordinate together. But…I completed the challenge. Here is what I came up with.
I made a total of 5 garment with fabrics you can find at your local Joann stores. Here are the patterns I used to create them:
Casual Top- Used a soft white linen fabric and red buttons from my own button line. Pattern used was McCalls M7360.
Dressy Top- Used a super fun black and white rayon blend fabric and pink buttons from my own button line. Pattern used was McCalls 7899.
Skirt- Used a rayon fabric is a beautiful, colorful print. Pattern used was New Look 6053.
Jacket- Used a soft mustard linen fabric and brown buttons. Pattern used was Vogue 9340.
Pants- Used a really nice black denim fabric. Pattern used was New Look 6627
