orange crush

There's something incredibly rewarding about owning a dress that fits just right, catches the eye, and above all, feels wonderfully comfortable. I've been fortunate enough to have such a piece in my wardrobe - a pink mesh dress that I happened upon in a local retail store. Not only did it fit like a dream, but it also boasted a design that was simple yet striking, and oh so comfortable.

I was inspired to recreate this beloved piece, giving it a unique twist of my own. The first step was, of course, finding the perfect fabric. While browsing through their extensive selection of fabrics, my eyes landed on an Orange Abstract Printed Tulle Fabric. It was love at first sight. The beautiful abstract design was eye-catching and unique, unlike anything I had seen before. Plus, the orange shade was just perfect. This summer, orange is my color, and this fabric was exactly what I needed for my project.

Discovering the perfect fabric is akin to finding a hidden treasure, waiting to be transformed into a masterpiece. As a fashion enthusiast, I recently embarked on a thrilling DIY journey to recreate my cherished pink mesh dress from Target. With a clear vision in mind, I set out to JOANN, a haven for crafters, and stumbled upon a fabric that stole my heart instantly - the Orange Abstract Printed Tulle.

With my fabric chosen, I set to work on recreating my dress. The process was not just about sewing a piece of clothing; it was a form of self-expression, an opportunity to infuse a part of myself into something I'd wear with love and pride.

MODIFICATIONS

I did make a few modifications to this pattern:

  • I changed the sleeves to more like a flutter sleeve.

  • I did not add any closures. I made this dress loose enough for me to pull over.

  • I removed the dart on the waistband.
