Luxury Hotel Style Bedroom Makeover
Seven years ago, we built our home, and it's surprising how my bedroom remained unchanged all this while. For all these years, it lacked personality—there was no reflection of me in this space. While I was so engrossed in making the outside world work and crafting spaces for my children, I overlooked my own personal haven.
Lately, as I've delved deeper into self-care, I felt it was the right moment to give my bedroom a makeover. My vision was to craft a sanctuary, a soothing escape after a long day. Instead of vibrant shades that energize, I leaned towards calming neutrals, which to me act as relaxation for the mind. I aimed for a room rich in texture, exuding the luxury of a five-star hotel. And given the calming effect nature has on me, I wanted elements that would bring the serenity of the outdoors inside.
Im absolutely obsessed with this mirror and mini tree. We also added a 7ft Olive tree to this space.
Embarking on the journey to craft my bedroom oasis, I began with the central element of the room—the bed. As the primary focal point, I aimed to make it both a statement piece and subtly refined. It might sound contradictory, but it will become clear as you see the final result.
The fabric that I chose to create the headboard is this beautiful lightly weathered gray faux leather. To be specific, it’s Richloom Upholstery Vinyl Tiona Off White It has a beautiful textured look, but feels like butter. It's so soft and smooth, yet strong and durable. Let me not forget to mention that it’s very easy to work with. As I mentioned, the fabric is in the color Tiona Off White, but remember, it’s a light gray color. This fabric is great for so many other projects.

Another beautiful fabric that I worked to add beautiful texture to my bed is the Richloom Popcorn Natural Chenille I used these to make the three extra large pillows. I love the look and feel of this fabric. It feels expensive. If you’re familiar with boucle fabric, this is that! This fabric is also easy to work with and is very versatile. I already have plans on using this for other projects so stay tuned.
I used 30” x 30” Pillow inserts to create this luxurious look.
