Yarn Gathering Technique
Guys, I am seriously obsessed with this method of gathering fabric. It has made gathering so much easier and so less stressful. In the past, I used to sew the two basting stitches and would hope that my thread didn't break. A lot of times it would, and I would have to start the entire process again. It took the fun out of sewing for me. But now........but....... now...... I happy to share that this technique will not fail you. No need to worry about any broken threads any more friends. If you haven't tried this method, I would highly recommend that you do. Watch my tutorial and let me know what you think.
This method is excellent for fabrics of all weights. It's definitely best for medium to heavy weight fabrics. If using the traditional method where you sew two rows of threads parallel to one another, you run the risk of the threads breaking and having to start the process all over again to get the perfect gathers. Withe the yarn method, you won't have to worry about the yarn breaking at any point. (unless you are ridiculously rough with it)
