Student Council Posters

I know what you’re thinking moms, but listen…..this was a life long dream. (yea…Im pretty simple) LOL!

YES! I TOOK OVER MY DAUGHTER’S STUDENT COUNCIL CAMPAIGN! (Please don’t judge me, LOL!)

So, my daughter is in the 5th grade. This year, she decided that she wanted to run for Treasurer of her class. You should have seen me moms. My face lit up with excitement when she told me. I had thousands of ideas running through my head, so I told her to scurry along and I’d take care of it. LOL! So if you watch my instastories, you’ve seen me work on these posters. I’ve received several DM’s asking how I made them, so I thought I’d share some close up pictures and the list of materials and tools I use to create these. They are extremely easy to create so based off of the photos, I’m pretty confident that you will be able to figure out how I did it. However, if you have any questions, please comment below and ask. Id be happy to help. I have three different posters that I’d love to share with you.

WHAT’S POPPIN

MATERIALS

Insulation Foam
Large Sticker Letters
Yarn
12x12 Black Yardstick
Computer + Printer
White Printer Paper
Gold Star Stickers
Two Foam Poster Boards
Thin Poster Board
Red Acrylic Paint
Green Tissue Paper
Glue Gun
Gluesticks
Removable Hook
Hole Punch

Note 1: To create the popcorn, lay out a large plastic tarp outdoors. Spray several large popcorn shapes all over the tarp. Allow to dry several hours. Once dry, pile them on top of each other but hot gluing them.

Note 2: To create the popcorn bucket, paint red stripes and allow it to dry. Fold one inch on each side and bend it into a ‘C’ shape. Hot glue the popcorn bucket to foam board.

Note 3: To keep the shape of the popcorn bucket, stuff it with tissue paper.

Note 1: Use double-sided tape to adhere the red pasteboard to the white foam board. (Read the note in the piggy bank poster.)

PIGGY BANK

Pink Yardstick
Foam Posterboards
Gold Coins
Dollars
Double Sided Tape

Note: For this poster and the taco poster, DO NOT use any other adhesive except a strong double sided tape. I linked one above. If you use hot glue, you’ll see bumps and lumps on the paper. If you use a elders glue like I did, the paper will become distorted. Used heavy books to straighten it out while it was in the drying phase, but it didn’t help. Double-sided tape is your best friend!
