Spring Palazzo

So last Fall I made some palazzo pants in a tribal print and I received so many compliments on them, so I decided that I was going to carry that trend right into Spring.

The pattern that I used was McCalls 6515.  I did have to make some adjustments to get the look that I wanted.  If you want to wear them with flats the length of the pattern should be fine, but if you plan on wearing these pants with heels, I suggest that you add about 3 inches to the length of these pants.  Now, for the high-waist, I added about 2 inches to the top of the pant.   When you add the waistband, the look comes together perfectly.  Also, I chose to use an invisible zipper for a cleaner finish.   The fabric that I chose was a Twill fabric.  Twill is perfect for pants because it has great durability to handle day-to-day activities.  As for my top, it was an old, long sleeve turtleneck that I just cut up and altered and within 30 minutes, I came up with the look that you see below.  So here is my pulled together look.  If you would like to make them yourself, I have a tutorial below.
